The leadership of Adamawa state chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and that of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), have thanked Adamawa state government for mediation over the feud that saw the end of a lingering crisis between them
IPMAN, led by Abdulmalik Bello, its state secretary and The Adamawa/Taraba Area Commander of the Nigeria Customs Service, Garba Bashir both pledged to work in synergy as the matter has been laid to rest
Earlier, the state Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta had appreciated the IPMAN Customs for finding common ground over their feud.
Farauta said, “On behalf of Adamawa state government, I want to let our people know that fuel is now being sold in every filling station.
“And that we have smoothened out whatever issues they have with one another.
“We are hoping that common man will walk into any filling station and buy fuel,so that our live Will be ease out.
“And as a government, we were concerned, because we know our people are stressed under the economic situation and we don’t want more issues.q
“So on behalf of the Governor of Adamawa state Rt Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, we want to thank IPMAN, the Customs,the NATO,the NNDPR and all the organisations that were involved in this issues.
“We genuinely want to thank them for hearing our call as a government and also doing the needful”. Farauta stressed
IPMAN’Bello added
“We want to tell the Adamawa people, that government has came into the issues and all the issues have been resolved.
“We are calling on all our members to open their filling stations and Continue selling their fuel to the masses of Adamawa state.
‘Everybody is free to go to any filing station of their choice to buy fuel, everything has been resolved and we will continue working with the customs cordially just like we were doing before.
‘So behalf of Adamawa IPMAN we want to say thank you very much to his Excellency for intervening in this issues we resolved it amicably, thank you very much.
The Comptroller the Nigeria Customs Service for Adamawa/Taraba Command , Garba Bashir noted,
“When I left here yesterday, I called the headquarters and I brief them on the meeting we had yesterday and they gave directives that to ease things in the state so that the populace will go with their normal businesses.
“The headquarters has given directives that we shall transfer them trucks load of petrol to NDRPE.
“We will call for sensitization to the members of IPMAN to sensitized them on the activities of this operation operation ,to make sure that there will no be any problem.
“I thanked the state government for calling this meeting and I thank the members of IPMAN and NDPR’ Garba said.
