The Senator Representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Innovation, Science and Technology, Aminu Iya Abbas, says increasing raw materials local processing will boost economic gains.
Iya Abbas disclosed this while attending the African Raw Materials Summit 2025 in Abuja.
Senator Iya Abbas is known for promoting energy equity and local innovation, ensuring all Nigerians have access to reliable power while advancing a just and green energy transition.
He joined other policymakers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, inventors, investors, and other key players in the raw materials value chain from across the African continent as they shared insights and strategies to unlock Africa’s raw materials for industrial growth and global competitiveness.
Senator the Abbas represented the Special Guest of Honour ,President of Senate ,Goodswill Akpabio, assuring a 30% value addition to raw materials before export, which means local processing must increase to boost economic gains, as outlined by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council. These strategic decisions will shape the future for all.
