
- SAYS HIS CONSTITUENTS ARE SUFFERING
The Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Hon. Muhammad Buba Jijjiwa has called on the state government through the Ministry of Works and Energy Development to carry out intervention works on the Jada- Kojoli road in Jada Local Government Area of the state.
The Deputy Speaker made the call while presenting a motion under matters of urgent public importance raised on the floor of the house Monday on the collapse of Arch culvert (Mini Culvert) following damages caused by a heavy downpour in the area.
Hon. Jijjiwa who is representing Jada Mbulo constituency, maintained that the intervention works will greatly ameliorate the sufferings of commuters on that road, adding that commuters have resorted to diverting through hard to reach areas
The Deputy Speaker, lamented that the deplorable state of the road which served as major economic backbone of Jada local government with over 50 trucks plight the road to transport farm produce to various markets.
He added that, the devastation is beyond the financial capacity of the local and has inflicted suffering on travelers which according to him the collapse of the Arch culvert would lead to the decline in economic status and standard of living of the area.
The lawmaker however expressed confidence that the “Fresh Air” Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri with his passion for improving the quality of life for citizens will address the situation.
He prayed for the house to direct relevant authorities to as matter of urgency to fix the arch culvert in other to ease the hardship face by his constituents.
Some of the legislators in divergent contributions noted that emergency measures will ease the sufferings of commuters while urging the state government to urgently intervene considering the economic importance of the road.
Speaker of the Assembly Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley commended Members for their commitment to improving the lives their constituents through people-oriented legislation and urged the state ministry of works and energy development among other relevant authorities to as matter of urgency take necessary measures by providing emergency alternative.
