Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has reassured the military of government’s support in confronting emerging challenges.
The Governor, at the West African Social Activities ( WASA) 2025 held at the Jibson Jalo Cantonment Yola Saturday, commended the military for their services to the state and nation.
The governor, represented by the state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, said, “Let me assure the Brigade of the state government’s commitment and unflattering support in your operation and other areas the state government may be required from time to time
“As you commemence 2025 activities, let me remind you of the need to be more focused and determine to continue confront the emerging challenges.
“I further implore you to be proactive, professional and above all prayerful in your approach to divergent situation as they arise.
Commending the military for combating crime and criminality that hitherto bedeviled the state, the governor said, “The scourge of kidnapping, famer header clashes as well as activities of ‘shila boys’ has greatly reduced in the state.
“Your dogged determination in combating these anomalies has brought tremendous positive change in the general security situation thereby creating favourable environment for economic and socio-political activities to thrive.”
In his welcome address, the 23 Brigade Commander, Brig-Gen Paul Zawaya, appreciated the state government’s efforts in providing needed supports to the brigade.
“I want appreciate Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his genuine understand and unwavering support to the activities of the brigade.
“Worthy to mention is the steadfast support received in the ongoing operation FARAUTA, which has resulted in positive outcomes currently being experienced in the state,” the commander said.
The Commander also appraised 2024 training activities carried out with high sense of responsibility as well as continue operation in the brigade area of responsibility which drastically reduced the security threats and rekindled confidence in the populace
The Commander reiterated that the brigade would continue to discharge her constitutional duties with every form of responsibility and loyalty.
He thanked the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Maj-Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar for his continue support and commitment in enhancing profession and regimentation in the brigade through his visionary command.
The West African Social Activities ( WASA) is an annual event organized by the Nigerian Army to celebrate the diverse rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.
The annual event brings together Officers, Soldiers, and their families in a relaxed atmosphere to celebrate and mark the end of the year’s activities.
