Adamawa government says no fewer than 1,760 primary health care workers, hace been recruited in the last two years to enhanced quality service delivery in the state.
Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri stated this at Bi-annual meeting with traditional rulers and stakeholders in primary health care matters, held at Banquet hall of the government house yesterday.
The state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta who represented the governor highlighted capacity building and training severally conducted to enhance clinical competence and fast the attainment of desired population outcomes from the health personnels.
So also, “the provision of free air delivery kits to teeming pregnant mothers.”
Urged the monarch to sensitize their subjects on the impending flood alerts issued by government, urging those living in flood prone areas to relocate to avert its impact.
She also tasked them on their role of promoting peace and security in their respective domain especially in this challenging times.
The present administration has taken it upon itself to make healthcare services accessible and affordable for all, hence the identification, prioritization and execution of projects in the health sector for effective and efficient performance.
More new cottage hospitals constructed some renovated healthcare facilities, recruited staff,provision of drugs among other state of the art facilities to meet the health needs of the citizens the governor noted.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Chief Felix Tangwami and the state executive chairman primary healthcare development agency Dr. Suleiman Saidu Bashir said primary healthcare is the bedrock on which the health sector should be built, expecting renewed commitment from stakeholders to build on the gains recorded.
The stakeholders stressed the need for residents to always avail themselves to healthcare services provided for a healthy and productive life.
They acknowledged the enormous contributions and support from development partners, which has been critical in changing the phase of the health system.
The traditional leaders, development partners, among other stakeholders saluted the Adamawa state government for the provision of enabling environment where healthcare services thrives, pledging renewed commitment to work in synergy to ensure primary healthcare continue to perform optimally.
There was a presentation on primary healthcare 2024 first and second quarter performance, followed by the presentation of award to the best performing local government areas and traditional leaders at the event.
