Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has arrived in Ghana to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
Fintiri has been received in the country’s capital, Accra, as one of the guests for the ceremony scheduled for the Black Star Square.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri is joined by the governors of Taraba, Plateau, Zamfara, and Delta states as guests of President-elect Mahama.
The governors met on Monday to discuss issues ahead of the inauguration.
Wonosikou notes in his statement that Mahama’s inauguration marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s democratic journey, as he returns to the presidency eight years after losing power.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and 10 other heads of state, among numerous other dignitaries from around the world, are attending the inauguration.
