In a heartwarming ceremony, the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barr. Boss Gida Mustapha CFR, commissioned the HOSA Table Water project located in Government Secondary School Hong, Adamawa State, his alma mater.
This legacy project, brainchild of set 74 of Hong Old Students Association, aims to provide clean drinking water, reduce water-borne diseases, and serve as a source of income for the association, while also creating job opportunities for the youth.

During the commissioning, which was part of the 2024 AGM of the association, Barr. Mustapha lauded the foresight of the initiators and urged other sets to emulate set 74 in initiating projects that empower the community and reduce unemployment among youths.
The HOSA president, Dr. Ismaila Nuhu Maksha MFR, emphasized that this year’s AGM is geared towards software investments to ensure the alma mater regains its top place in producing well-trained and disciplined students who are “educated to serve” the nation.
The Principal of the school highlighted some challenges faced by the institution and called for HOSA’s intervention to complement government efforts in restoring the school’s glory.
Members who contributed to the discussion praised the National leadership of the association under Dr. Maksha and vowed to continue supporting and cooperating with them. A minute of silence was observed in honor of the departed members, a poignant reminder of the importance of community and legacy.
This project is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the impact they can have on the lives of individuals, particularly children, who are most vulnerable to water-borne diseases.
