The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has given food items to people across the North East to cushion the prevailing economic hardship.
The distribution followed a directive by the NEDC management, headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Alkali, to intervene in easing the hardship that average Nigerians currently face.
In Adamawa State, the NEDC distributed over 20,000 bags of rice and other items which included bags of sugar, cartons of sphaghetti and Indomie noodles, and cans of vegitable oil.
Identified clusters of people, including CSOs, charity organizations, traditional and religious institutions, community based organizations, people living with disabilities, women and youth groups and the media were handed the items to facilitate seamless distribution.
The items came as a huge relief to the people who had been battling hyper inflation to obtain food and virtually every household item from the open market.
