The Chairman of the House Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus Laori, alongside his Senate counterpart, Distinguished Senator Sani Zangon-Daura, conducted a thorough questioning of the management teams from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) as they defended their budget estimates for the year 2025.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Laori urged the heads of the MDAs—specifically NEPAD-AUDA, ICPR, and DTA—to present comprehensive reports detailing their budget performance for 2024, along with justifications for their proposed allocations for the upcoming year.
Emphasizing the critical role of MDAs in fostering national growth and development, Chairman Laori underscored the necessity for these agencies to prioritize spending on projects and programs that align with their mandates.
While he commended the MDAs for their achievements, he also highlighted the imperative of maintaining probity and accountability to the Nigerian citizens they serve, reinforcing the expectation that all public servants uphold the highest standards of integrity in their operations.
