As a result of its commitment, strategies, and providing the enabling environment for investment, the Adamawa state government led by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has increased its internally generated revenue IGR from N7b annually in 2019 to N17b in 2023.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue Services, Hon. Chiwaren Emmanuel Abubakar, disclosed this while featuring on the live Hausa radio program “Jihar Mu a Yau” broadcast on Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola and sponsored by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media Alh. Muhammad B. Tukur.
The Adviser explained the time Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri became the Governor in 2019, the state only secured seven billion nairas as annual IGR but with commitment, blocking revenue leakages, and providing infrastructural development among another enabling environment, the IGR has raised to 17 billion naira in 2023 and more is expected as the 2024 report is awaited.
Hon. Chiwaren commended Governor Fintiri for the proper utilization of income, accountability, and transparency in governance for the development of the state.
He says this has given more employment opportunities thereby reducing joblessness in the state.
The CEO of the Chiwaren Foundation lauds the state government policies and programs aimed at alleviating poverty and making people self-reliant, especially through the “Adamawa State Poverty Alleviation & Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) ADAS Programme, L-PRESS, among others.
Other laudable programs of Governor Fintiri are providing super highways, and flyovers, allocating 300 hectares of land for farms in each of the 21 LGA with free fertilizer and other farm inputs and the recent contracts awarded for the construction of international conference, and stadium among others “says Chiwaren”
The economic expert has called on citizens in the state to give them the need for maximum support and cooperation.
Shortly after the program, the Adviser was taken around to both the ABC Yola transmission station and the broadcasting house by the General manager of the corporation, Alh. Abdulnasir Ali.
He commented on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for supplying all the equipment needed to digitalize and boost the radio station to cover the entire state and thanked the general manager for complementing government efforts by renovating the radio station within the available resources.
On his part, the general manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola Alh. Abdulnasir Ali appreciates Hon. Chiwaren for a visit and restates their commitment to improving the station to enlighten the people on the policies and programs of the state government
