The National Association of Perioperative Nurses of Nigeria (NAPON) on Wednesday presented award of excellence to the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley. News Platform
NAPON which encompasses all nurses in the management of patients before and after surgery, honoured the Speaker with award in recognition of his style of leadership at the assembly.
Speaking while presenting the award, the Chairman of the association in the state, Hon. Mohammed Babangida Njidda, congratulated the Speaker for the award.
Hon. Babangida, who is the member representing Nasarawo Binyeri constituency at the assembly, disclosed that the national body of the association presented the award to Rt. Hon. Bathiya, in recognition of his high legislative acumen.
He said that the association had held its scientific conference in Yola, Adamawa State and found out that there are distinguished persons who perform creditably well in their choosing fields of endeavour.
He stated that the NAPON found it was necessary to honour them with award; hence, the presentation of the national award to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Speaker Bathiya and other personalities in the state.
According to him, the Speaker has been consistent in the way he performs his functions and conducting the affairs of the hallowed chamber, and the need to honour him so as to spur him to do more.
He applauded his leadership for giving the needed attention to some health bills enacted and urged him sustain the tempo to enable him continue to succeed in steering the affairs of the assembly.
Responding, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, appreciated them for finding him worthy for the award and promised to continue to support him to the best of his ability.
