The Member representing Girei Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi has distributed three thousand bags of maize and two thousand bags of rice to his constituents.
The distribution ceremony, held in Jabbi Lamba, Girei Local Government Area, was flagged off by the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley.
Speaker Wesley commended the Girei lawmaker for his generous contribution and urged beneficiaries to use the food items for the purpose intended.
He lauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for allocating constituency allowances to lawmakers, describing the distribution as timely considering the current food shortages.
Mr. Bathiya also called for more support to Governor Fintiri and other lawmakers to facilitate further developmental projects.
In his address, the member representing Girei Constituency, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi explained that the food distribution is part of his ongoing efforts to support his constituents, as directed by Governor Fintiri.
He said the aid is intended for a wide range of beneficiaries, including persons living with disabilities, community stakeholders, religious organizations, and residents from all ten political wards of Girei Constituency.
Alhaji Abdullahi urged recipients to refrain from selling the food and expressed his commitment to enacting laws that will foster development and promote peace in Girei and Adamawa in General.
He also commended Governor Fintiri for the constituency allowances and acknowledged Speaker Bathiya Wesley for his exemplary leadership.
Speaking separately, Chairman of Girei Local Government Council, Adamu Umar Dallatu and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Girei Local Government Area, Muhammed Njidda Tukur both praised Abdullahi for his dedication and genuine concern for his constituents.
Some Beneficiaries of the aid expressed their gratitude to the girei lawmaker, noting that the assistance would significantly alleviate their hardships.
