Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has flagged off distribution of instructional materials to schools in Salti Numan local government area of the state.
Farauta however, directed traditional rulers, principals and head teachers to collectively
monitor teaching and learning in public schools in their domain and report back weekly to her office.
The materials which were donated by the Numan community was aimed to revamp the declining education and encourage school enrollment.
She stressed that government
would get it hard on parents compromising the free education system by not enrolling their children into schools.
“I want to encourage parents to enroll their children to go back to school and stay there to learn,” she said
Education Secretary, Numan local government Mrs Friday Anzama enjoined the community to take ownership of the schools by working in synergy with staff for improvement.
“The school committee should be visiting schools regularly to ensure teachers and learners are coming to school for sustenance of teaching and learning.
Over 125 learners benefitted from the symbolic presentation of the items.
