Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapha Farauta has urged lawyers to ensure dispensation of justice with fairness in the interest of the common man.
Farauta spoke while declaring open 4-day Christian lawyers fellowship of Nigeria, 2025 North East regional conference held in Yola Thursday.
The conference with its theme: ‘Thine is the kingdom’. called on the luminaries to project the image of Christ in law practices in Nigeria
She further said the judiciary should promote fairness and equity in undertaking its duties
According to her the comman man look up to lawyer for transparent dispensation of justice without sentiments.
“As lawyers in the courtrooms or anywhere, common man looks up to you for solutions”.
Earlier, the former Chief Judge Justice Nathan Musa noted that, the gathering is an avenue for tackling challenges confronting christian legal practitioners and enrich themselves spiritually and physically for the task in legal practice.
He urged them to be partakers of God’s kingdom as Christian lawyers, admonishing them to remain resolute and reflect Christ in all their dealings.
The President, Christian lawyers fellowship of Nigeria Pastor Femi David Ikotun, represented by his vice Paul Hammache urged the lawyers to be vanguard in advocating holiness in a time of moral erosion and serve with compassion in a time of legal exploitations.
He said, ” speak the truth to power, when power forgets justice, train successor for deeper kingdom alignment.
“Professional pursuits must be connected with their spiritual identity” he added.
The highlights of the event was the unveiling of the sound counsel magazine, 2025 edition.
