Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has urged corps members to be vanguard in carrying out a united Nigeria project.
Addressing 1,500 corps members Friday in Yola during swearing-in ceremony at Damare Orientation camp in Girei LGA, Farauta listed education, healthcare, agriculture and rural development as areas of partnerships with the corps members.
“I urge you to cultivate healthy interactions, exchange ideas and build lasting relationship to advance the progress of a united Nigeria,’ she said.
Farauta assured that the monthly N20,000 allowance paid by government would be sustained to cushion the impact of inflation.
She encouraged them to learn Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneur Development (SAED) that would make them self-reliant and valuable to society.
“The NYSC scheme is a symbol of national unity. Feel at home because you are now citizens of Adamawa State,” she told them.
In her remarks, the NYSC State Coordinator, Caroline Chinedu Osoroh, alongside the Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board, Barr. Wali Yakubu, praised Governor Fintiri’s people focused leadership and pledged their unwavering support.
They urged corps members to actively participate in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to become job creators.
Both praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his recent commitment to renovating the orientation camp aimed at improving the comfort and safety of corps members.
