Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has reiterated government commitments to improving welfare of corp members deployed to the state.
Speaking during the swearing ceremony of 1013 Batch ‘A’ stream 2 corp members deployed for national service at the NYSC orientation camp in Damare, Girei LGA, Farauta said support ranging from food augmentation in camp to the payment of monthly stipend of N20,000 currently paid by the state government would be sustained.
She said, “We trust you would reciprocate this support through discipline, diligence and impact at your various postings.
“Our administration’s focus on education, healthcare, agriculture and rural development, perfectly aligns with your area of primary assignment”.
She urged them to be disciplined, exhibit diligence, and make impact at their various postings as well as leverage on opportunities in the state for self-reliance.
Farauta who represented Governor Ahmadu Fintiri encouraged them to utilize the opportunity of skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme during their stay at camp, as the future belongs to innovative and creative minds.
The state Coordinator of NYSC Caroline Chinedu Osoroh and the chairman governing board Barrister Wali Yakubu lauded governor Fintiri’s continuous support for the scheme, cut across feeding, welfare, security and well being.
They urged corps members to abide by the rules guiding the scheme, reminding them that the orientation exercise will position them to be employers of labour rather than job seekers.
The state chief judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, represented by Justice Kyanson Samuel Lawason, administered the oath of allegiance on the corps members.
Highlights of the ceremony was a tug of war competition between the governor’s team and the chairman governing board, where the governor’s team emerged winner.
