Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has reaffirmed government’s commitment in upholding the dignity and wellbeing of citizens.
Speaking during distribution of Dignity Kits to 600 women, girls and boys donated by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in collaboration with Ubola Rural Community Foundation (URCF) at Karewa Secondary School in Yola, the deputy governor said the dignity kits symbolize hope, care and compassion for the students.
Represented by the Commissioner for Transport Development, Mrs Wumfe Anthony, the deputy governor insisted that every individual deserves to live in dignity regardless of their circumstances.
She added that government is mindful of the challenges of its people, promising to address it squarely.
“This dignity kits represents, more than just essential items, they symbolizes hope care and compassion.
The distribution remained us that every individual deserves to leave with dignity, regardless of their circumstances.

Speaking for URCF, Pharm. Musa Dauda Etubi Executive Chairman Ubola Rural Community Foundation, listed items distributed comprises of reusable sanitary pad which has life span of seven years, for menstrual and reproductive hygiene, toothpaste and brush for oral hygiene, heir crime and cumb, soap and cream for body beauty.
Others are hardcover exercise books for educational incentives, sanitary towel for hand washing hygiene, under wears and bag containing the items.
Fatima Bakari, Acting State Coordinator, NEDC urged other donor agencies to emulate the commission’s humanitarian support.
The Technical Assistant lead URCF Dr. Omede Ogu said was initiated to restore dignity and hope among the vulnerable who have faced devastation caused by insurgency in the north east region.
Representing the executive secretary post primary schools management board, the director professional and monitoring services Fadimatu Bello appreciated the donors for their gender sensitivity, acknowledging that sanitary items are very useful, especially to girls
The whole significance of the project is the identification of a boy and girl as goodwill ambassadors for the promotion and propagation of the message of dignity kits beyond their places of learning, including social groups.
The Principal of the school, Bwalami Fwa thanked appreciated the support.
