Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has commended the role of journalists in strengthening democracy and good governance in Adamawa state.
Addressing members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ), Adamawa state chapter in her office Tuesday, the deputy governor identifies them as major stakeholders for their contributions as members of the fourth estate of the realm.
Farauta reiterated that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration is a media friendly government, reassuring of government’s continuous support for journalists for effectively service delivery.
She also tasked them on professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
She said, “I Want to thank you for bringing us and government projects and policies to limelight. Adamawa state is one big family, we would continue to support journalists”.
Earlier, the state chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs Rose Anthony Elishama acknowledged the developmental strides of the administration, which she said will remain indelible in the annals of history.
The chairperson pledged NAWOJ’s support and loyalty, encouraging the Deputy Governor and her principal Governor Fintiri to continue developing the state.
Elishama appealed for support for more productive, efficient and effective service delivery, noting that the women journalists remain poised in promoting and showcasing the programs of Governor Fintiri.
