Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor, Kaletapwa Farauta has organized an in-house capacity training for all cadres of staff for improved service efficiency.
The training with the theme; Understanding the Principles and Administration of Scheme of Service, Ethics and Discipline in Civil/Public Service, factored commitment, teamwork, carries planning, requirements for achievement within and beyond each cadre as well as the methods of entry into the service.
Other areas involve the duties and hierarchical arrangements of posts along with the salary scales/grade levels and work performance, teaching of work related skills or knowledge to employees were major topic discussed during the workshop
The deputy governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary in her office Dr. Linah Markus underscored the benefits of the training, urging participants to apply same knowledge at their various duty posts
Farauta pointed out that rejigging th civil service, through prompt payment of salaries and other staff welfare is one of the fundamental objective of the 8-point agenda of the Fintieo led administration.
During their paper presentations, the facilitators Mr Cornelius Dedan Nyari a retired permanent secretary and Muawiya Shuaibu, lecturer with the Adamawa state Polytechnic (SPY) harps on additional qualification as necessary for civil servants
promotion based on merit.
One of the participants, Mrs Agnes Elisha, appreciated the deputy governor, for considering her staff for the training.
Elisha further explained that the knowledge obtained during the training had broaden their horizons, especially in the area of discipline and misconduct during office hours.
She urged for periodic training, inline with the global best practices for optimal performances.
