Patients suffering from different ailments have received free medical care, courtesy of BEHILUNG healthcare centre, Numan.
Deputy governor professor Kaletapwa Farauta who was at hand during the Flagg off of the free medical exercise commended Major General Lawrence Ngubane rtd for his foresight to establish the health facility amidst the increasing health demands of people.
The free medical outreach featured treatment of people suffering Hepatitis B and C screening, HIV screening, Urinalysis, PCV, PSA for screening prostate cancer which is common in men, surgeries among others.
The idea of establishing the health facility and championing free medical services is not unconnected with passion by Major General Lawrence Ngubane rtd. to give back to the society and by extension complement government efforts in healthcare services.
Deputy governor Farauta shortly after inspecting the facility, lauded the initiative, testifying that it is complementary to government drive to meet the health needs of people.
She said the health centre has all it takes to deliver on its mandate, calling on people to take advantage of the free medical exercise.
On his part, Major General Lawrence Ngubane rtd. explained that he was driven by passion to bring health services closer to the people, considering the fact that health is wealth.
Gen Ngubane said the idea behind the outreach is to leave a good legacy for his people.
“The facilities is like seed planted which would germinate for others to emulate.
“The medical outreach is aimed at supporting humanity and being health care services close to the people”.
According to him the outreach is capable of reducing cost of travelling long distances in search of medical attention especially for minor cases.
Major General Lawrence Ngubane rtd. is a brother to the deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta.
