Adamawa Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta has inaugurated nine primary health care centres constructed by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Farauta, during the inauguration in Gyawana PHCC in Lamurde LGA on Tuesday Lamurde, said
four were newly constructed and five upgraded and equipped for 24-hour uses across Gombi, Lamurde, Hong, Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha, Song, Gombi and Michika LGAs.
She added that the projects, funded by Japan International cooperation agency (JICA) were fully equipped with solar energy systems and solor powered water supply systems to ensure uninterrupted access to clean water under accelerating access to basic services for IDPs and returnees in host communities.
She lauded development partners and asked for further collaboration and the scaling up of such projects and similar interventions.
According to her, expanding such initiative will help in reaching more IDPs returnees, and host communities with similar needs.
Earlier, the Chief of Mission IOM, Sharon Dimanche, thanked the Japanese the state government and JICA even as she advocated for sustained collaboration for more gain
She explained that the facilities would provide essential health services to maternal and child care, stressing that the project symbolises hope and healing.
Pharmacist Titus Takurde, Director pharmaceutical ministry of health who represented commissioner for health Chief Felix Tangwami urged the community to take ownership of the project.

Hama Bachama , were represented by the District Head of Gyawana Dr. Aguso Bamaiyi urged government IOM and JICA to salvage the communities from hypertitis currently bedeviling the communities.##
