Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta
has tasked vice chairpersons across the 21 LGAs to ensure development of their ares.
Receiving members of the Nigeria Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen in her office, Farauta warned them against struggling for positions of various chairmen but to concentrate on carrying women along.
The deputy governor who reminded them of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s continuous commitment to create opportunities for inclusion of more women in policy and decision making processes, said government would remain resolute to exploring the potentials of women in its quest to ensure gender balance.
“You are to operate open door policy and ensure you respect your chairmen for grassroots development.
‘You are expected to carry women along and ensure trust at all levels.
In her remark the leader of the the group, Sarah Samuel , Vice chairperson Yola North local government, appreciated the remarkable achievement in carry women along in the state.
She said the emergence of women as vice chairmen is clear indication of promising governments.
