Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, defied rainfall Saturday morning to monitor the monthly sanitation exercise reintroduced to ensure clean environment.
Farauta who doubles as state chairman sanitation committee, led other cabinet members to inspect major refuse dumps at Shagari, Aliyu Mustapha College, Doubeli bye pass and airport road to ensure their evacuation.
She said her participation was to lead by example, and directed all ministries departments and agencies (MDAs) to key into the exercise to ensure a healthy state
“I lead by example as the chairman sanitation committee of the state. A clean state remains a clean citizenry and a healthy state.
“We defy rain and participate in the sanitation exercise to ensure that our environment is clean,” she said.
The Commissioner for Environment, Mohammed Sadiq Mohammed, appreciated the state government for constituting mobile court to prosecute sanitation violators.
Mohammed encouraged people to come out enmass to participate in the monthly exercise.

Jimeta said violators of the exercise would be prosecuted by the sanitation court, and urged the citizens to participate in the monthly exercise.
