The councillors of Numan Local Government Council in Adamawa State who were having issues against the council chairman, Hon Christopher Sofore, have announced a resolution.
The councillors who had gone as far as serving an impeachment notice on the chairman on allegation of financial misappropriation and administrative lapses, now say a better understanding of issues has made them change their posture.
They stressed to newsmen that intervention of critical stakeholders has informed a need to halt hostilities.
The Numan Legislative Council Leader, Nzashi Linus who led his colleagues to a news briefing at the state capital, Yola, stressed that they had been sensitised to the understanding that the crisis was due to communication gap between them and the council chairman.
Linus said, “While we appreciate the intervention of prominent sons and daughters, we have resolved to work with the Executive arm in the interest of peace, Numan LGA and Adamawa State as a whole.
“We resolved to ensure that the right thing is done always as Numan is bigger than all of us as a people of the Local Government, which is the objective and core value of democracy and the society.”
