The Adamawa State Sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Yahaya Sabo Adikwu has challenged journalists to continue to take care of their work as a journalist, because journalism is a great job.
Adikwu who was a practising journalist, said this during a courtesy call on the Correspondents’ Chapel in Yola, saying he will never forget his years in journalism.
Speaking about the introduction of a new system to provide safety and caution advice to drivers, he said commitment in to upgrading driving habits among motorists in the State.
He explained that the new techniques his command wants to introduce to motorists especially commercial drivers would be the method used by pilots on the plane.
Adikwu explained that the safety and cautionary tips would make the passengers in the vehicle to experience passionate bond with their pilot who would be appreciated for being deligent in his responsibility.
He announced that his command will be holding a grand stakeholders meeting on Saturday and would be charting a new course of action in safety environment.
He lamented that most car clashes are caused by human factors noting that global records have shown that 1.3 million people die globally as a result of road accidents.
Responding, the chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Padio Phineas congratulated the commander on his posting to head the Adamawa command.
Phineas told the commander to count on the chapel for constant publicity of the activities of his command.
