Adamawa state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, attended Sunday church service at Truth Foundation Ministries Grace Chapel International Yola where the sermon was on children and divinity.

In her sermon, Mrs Fukaseino Meme, advised parents to teach their children ways to emulate Jesus Christ in doing right.

Administering the sermon on the topic: ‘Building a relationship with God as little children’, the preacher reminded parents to practice the messages from the sermon at home because their children are watching them.

The preacher took her reading from Mathew 19: 13-14 which reads, “Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’

She asked the children, “When you go out with friends talk about God is good. When you go for sunday school, tell your friends what the Sunday school teacher told you in the church.”

She also supported her preaching with the story of Jesus Christ at 12 years: “And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, ‘Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.'”

She asked the children to begin to learn how to pray to God and start talking to God at teenage age, because God hears children prayers as Jesus was learning how to give prayers as he grew in spirit

She reminded them of the story of Joshua who had opportunity to rule at a young age and had done something different and asked them to emulate and do the right thing.

“Salvation of children matters to Jesus Christ as he want them come to him,” she added.
