The remains of Late Honourable James Pukuma has been laid to rest amidst tears in his home town Mijili, Hong local Government Area of Adamawa state.
Late Pukuma, until his death at the Age of 63 after a brief illness, was the immediate pass chairman of Hong local Government.
He was also a former state chairman, Trade union congress of Nigeria, TUC.
Born on November 15, 1961, late honourable James Pukuma attended Mijili primary school and later moved to Kaduna polytechnic where he obtained his Diploma.
The deceased was also at University of Maiduguri from 1992-1996, before proceeding to University of Birmingham UK from 2004-2005 were he had his master’s degree.
He was also a programme coordinator UNFPA ministry of women Affairs and social Development for 5 years, Secretary programme implementation committee for Adamawa state for 8 years.
Late Pukuma was also a State coordinator UNICEF assisted program (child protection) Adamawa state for 6 years, state chairman, Association of senior civil servants of Nigeria, and patron Boys Brigade Nigeria among other positions held.
Late James Pukuma left behind a wife Mrs Awumtiya James Pukuma and six children, among whom is Adati James Pukuma of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA.
There were tributes from various organizations, groups and individuals, describing the demise of comrade James Pukuma as colossal loss not only to the family, but the state at large.
In their separate condolence messages, they described him as a man of courage who always stands for truth, noting that he has left an indelible mark in the sands of history.
While praying his soul to rest at the bosom of God, they encouraged the bereaved family to build on the legacies of their late father who devoted much of his time serving God and humanity.
The speakers drew the attention of the living on the fact that God is the giver and taker of life, hence the need for those he left behind to see what has happened as an act of God.
