As Federal Government Girls College (FGGC),Yola marks its 45 years anniversary, Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa has charged former students (alumni) to be good ambassadors of the college wherever they find themselves in the world.
Addressing staff and students of the college on Friday, Farauta urged the alumni to always support the institution through interventions.
She enjoined members to always pay their alumni dues and be God fearing in the spirit of revamping the college.
“If you are in position, don’t wait for someone to steer you for intervention.
Importantly, we should represent the school wherever we find ourselves by being disciplined and hardworking,” she said.
The Deputy Governor who has the reputation of being the first headgirl of the college, advised the students to study towards impacting their generation positively.
Earlier, the President of the FGGC Yola Alumni, Dr. Chizoba Wonodi, said the event is home coming to restore contacts, interact with students and staff, share ideas and experiences on issues affecting the college.
Promises were made for intervention in area of solar power system and boreholes.
The principal, Elizabeth Ebun Adale-kalio said the college had produced great women in various endeavors, promising to sustain the academic and moral standard in the institution.
The Assistant Head girl of the college, Jessica Usiju Linus said as young girls, they admire seeing the old girls represent different aspects of the society, and they look forward to aspiring and portraying the good image of the school through hard work, commitment and dedication.
The Alumni also visited the old site of the college known as “KOMA”.
Notably, the college so far produced Adamawa deputy governor as well as deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
